Hutchinson Camp carved figure

Description: A carved male figure carrying a sack (similar to a St Nicholas or Santa Klaus figure) made by an internee, prisoner in Hutchinson Camp for the donor's father, Thomas (Tommy) Johnston, a guard at Hutchinson Camp from 1941 onwards (originally he spent first six months at Mooragh Camp c.1940).
Carved figure has a long beard and a brimmed hat with feather, is carrying a large heavy sack over one shoulder and is walking with long strides with a walking stick. Handwritten inscription in pencil on base.
