Marown Parish Commissioners seal designed by Archibald Knox

Description: Marown Parish Commissioners letter with details about the production of the Parish Seal. Archibald Knox made two sketches for the seal, the seal was made in England upon the request of Douglas printers, from sketch number one. When they needed the sketch again to use in printing on stationary the sketch could not be found in Douglas or in England so the second Knox sketch was used, this second sketch can be identified by an 'R' at the skirt hem.
