Manx slate
Description: Dark grey, metamorphosed mudstone and medium grey siltstone laminated pelite. Very well formed spaced cleavage cleaves a strongly micaceous bedding/first cleavage surface. Part of Dr Gerhard Bersu's 1940 excavation for manganese.
