Ayre Cut Silver Ingot

Description: A cut rectangular ingot, one of three pieces of hack silver (2015-0028/0001 - 0003). During the Viking Age, these ingots were used in the place of numerous silver coins as payment for goods. They contain more than 50% silver.

A previous find (2012-0084) of a whole silver ingot is from the same hoard.

Measurements: 25mm length
