Description: “Fishermen...will all tell numberless stories of the fairies, which they see dancing on the water, and whenever they eat anything, a small bit is always thrown away for the little fairies. In short, nothing can be more superstitious than they all are.” (The Duke of Rutland’s ‘Journal of a Tour through North and South Wales and the Isle of Man’ 1797, M 02435)
