Marine Drive (Douglas)
Description: Marine Drive is a short road along the east coast of the Isle of Man heading south (NGR 23740 47360). Brown's Guide to the Isle of Man of 1900 says, "...a well constructed road over the Head land to Port Soderick upon which an electric tramway has now been laid...To the geologist this part of the Manx coast is wonderfully rich in examples of the effects of shrinkage and of igneous action...To the naturalist and the botanist, this district is almost equally interesting; while the antiquarian...will find numerous points of peculiar interest in it."
