Notes: Iron Pier at the bottom of Broadway in Douglas. Opened in 1869 and built by Isaac Dixon for a local company it was there for people to promenade along. The pier was 1,000 feet long and the entrance pavillion as seen in this photograph was in 1894 re-erected at Groudle Glen as Dobie's Cafe next to the entrance.

This view is taken from a printed album of six photographs of the Isle of Man published around 1880 by Brown and Sons, printers of Athol Street, Douglas.
