Purpose of the Borrowings is: £440 for laying sewers from Eastfields to Peel Road and in Westmoreland Road plus part of the cost of widening Westmoreland Road, £350 for laying a permanent sewer in Little Switzerland, £380 for purchasing a portion of foreshore known as the Iron Pier site, £6,800 for the purchase of the Criterion Hotel, premises in Parade Street & New Bond Street, £3,000 for the erection of 7 double tenement-houses in Lord Street & £1,000 for acquiring the land for the foregoing dwellings - total £11,870. Committee recommend items 1-4. In respect of 5/6 they have referred matters back to Corporation for an alternative scheme to be considered. In Bound volume of Government Reports Vol 10. 1908-1910.
