In recognition for Sir Goldie Taubman's services Her Majesty the Queen conferred the Honour of Knighthood on The Speaker of The House of Keys. A Honour well deserved and that a greater Honour would not have been out of proportion to his merits and services. A calm judicial mind, his promptitude, firmness repeatedly saving The House in emergency with his thorough knowledge of the rules of procedure, traditional customs of the Chamber, enabled business to be conducted with the least friction.
