World War One War Memorial, Ramsey

Scope & Content: War memorial to the fallen of the 1914-18 war which stands next to the Police Station, Parliament Street, Ramsey. The memorial was designed by P.M.C.Kermode, an advocate. The cross was carved by the firm of Roystons in Douglas but it was understood that Mr Kermode had produced the design many years earlier, following the death of his father, Rev. William Kermode. Philip Moore Callow Kermode was also Secretary to the Manx Museum Trustees 1896-1922 and first Curator of the Manx Museum in Douglas 1922-1932.
