Biography: Age 30. Derek Pilling is an electrician, and comes from Accrington. This is his fourth season's racing, and he has competed at Aintree, Charterhall, Kirkby Mallory, Oulton Park and Thruxton. He rode in the 1958 350 c.c. Snaefell race, and finished 46th at 72.18 m.p.h., whilst in 1959 he finished 61st in the Junior. Last year he went up quite a number of places — he was 43rd in the Junior at 79.01 m.p.h. Hobbies: Fishing and swimming.
