Biography: Age 29, Ellis Boyce is a farm assistant from Minsterly, Salop. He has raced at many of the short circuits with considerable success, and made his first Island appearance in the 1953 Clubman's TT. In September of the same year he finished 15th in the Junior Manx and a year later, in the same event, he was 19th; in 1955 he was sixth in the Junior race and held third place in the Senior until crashing at Doran's Bend on the fifth lap. In 1956 he finished fourth in the Senior Manx and sixth in the Junior, whilst last year he was second in the Junior at 87.66 mph and broke the lap record in the Senior at 94.06 mph, only to retire on the fifth lap when leading the race. He is generally interested in all forms of sport, particularly motorcycling and cricket.
